In creating thinkbaby/ thinksport, it was important to us to be a socially responsible company in every way that we could see possible. It starts with the creation of our products and the environments that we produce in. Our facilities have been cleared GMP complaint and we would immediately dump in facility that used child labor or unfair work environment. We don’t use materials like PVC has they are hugely toxic to the workers that produce it. They have the strong potential to leach during consumer use. And their disposal has the strong potential for being harmful t the environment. We also focus on using materials and creating products that are highly sustainable. But this is just part of the equation. The other part of our focus relates to the indirect work we do to help people across teh world. So from a product perspective to being an important part of the social fabric, we are working on being a truly socially responsible company. So in choosing an organization we wanted to be connected to, we identified criteria important to us.
We met with and worked with a few great organizations over the years. And a few organizations that we thought would be a great fit, to really discover they weren’t more than a marketing engine for raising money. It was LIVESTRONG’s message and direct work that inspired us the most. From the founder: "As an avid endurance athlete, I have had the opportunity to race against Lance Armstrong back when he was winning triathlons at age 16. I use the word “race” here lightly, as he finished light years ahead of me at every race. When I watched the press announcement that Lance had cancer, it was just crushing. So much potential seemed to be lost. And with curious eyes, we all watched him rise to become one of the greatest athletes of all time. From the start of the Ride for the Roses (a fundraiser for the Lance Armstrong Foundation), I not only participated in these cancer fundraising events, but also created my own small fundraisers for LAF to help bring awareness to survivorship. Seeing the inspiration first hand felt by cancer survivors and folks riding in honor of them together and fighting the fight against cancer was part of why we specifically created thinkbaby / thinksport. It is estimated that 95% of cancers are environmentally based. And there is significant research pointing to chemicals leaching from consumer products to be one of the culprits." |

| Now many years later, LIVESTRONG has stayed true to their mission. The organization is a one-stop location for survivors to gain information. There definition of survivor is also unique. A survivor is any person diagnosed with cancer that is fighting the fight. I can’t imagine a more scary moment in life when you or a loved one is diagnosed. Where do you go, besides getting onto google and wading through a lot of disconnected and scary information. LIVESTRONG’s resource guide and guidance center is the answer. From the moment that someone is diagnosed they can actively find financial support, the latest information relating to cancer research and trials, to doctors. As our company proactively tackles problems, we found ourselves interested in partnering with an organization that had equal energy. |

| We have also been impressed with LIVESTRONG’s aggressive work to continue to get cancer research funded by the US. And not to mention their tireless efforts in getting stigmas of cancer erased across the world through their work at both the United Nations to villages in South Africa. Our partnership is also unique to the world. Our products are focused on removing chemical toxins from consumer products. So the connection to LIVESTRONG takes the mission based idea to a new level. We not only help reduce the chemical burden, but we also directly provide donations to LIVESTRONG’s fight against cancer. With cancer rates being reported between 1 and 4 to 1 and 2, we believe the more companies that involve themselves in the creation of safe alternatives, the better off we all will be. And thinksport continues to lead by example and through involvement providing relevant science to consumers and major media. In talking about the LIVESTRONG building in Austin, Texas, which is a renovated warehouse, Lance explained, “It will be a great day when this place gets converted into a restaurant or something else, because that is the day we have beaten cancer. But until that day, LIVESTRONG will be taking on the fight.” |

thinkbaby and thinksport provides LIVESTRONG the ability to connect to a product company with a similar mission. With the thinksport LIVESTRONG sunscreen, we bring to market the first sunscreen to pass Whole Foods Premium Care requirements. Our sunscreen has also received the prestigious “1” rating from EWG/The Breast Cancer Fund. Our work with LIVESTRONG is expanding in 2012. To Learn More about LIVESTRONG, please click here. |
